THE WHITE STRIPES TO APPEAR ON LORETTA LYNN TRIBUTE ALBUM
This is great news! Will this be a brand new White Stripes recording, or will we get a older, recorded version of "Rated X". Time will tell. Here's to hoping we get some new music recorded by Jack and Meg!
"Loretta Lynn has revealed the artists she personally chose to participate in an upcoming tribute album set for a Nov. 9 release on Sony Music. Lynn picked Sheryl Crow, Steve Earle, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Allison Moorer, Paramore, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, the White Stripes, Lucinda Williams, Gretchen Wilson and Lee Ann Womack to perform her hits with the producer and musicians of their own choosing. Additional details will be announced soon. "I am so happy that these singers wanted to do this record," Lynn said. "I love 'em all, and it was so great to hear all the different ways they did my hits. I hope people like it as much as I do and we sell a bunch of records!""

CONAN O'BRIEN'S RELEASING TWO ALBUMS VIA THIRD MAN RECORDS
I need to hear this spoken word recording of the story of Frankenstein! This information was taken from Paste Magazine:
"As the hype for his new show on TBS begins to grow, Conan O’Brien will release two albums on Jack White’s Third Man Records imprint.
Live At Third Man was recorded on June 10 with the Legally Prohibited Band. It features some comedy along with some rockabilly tunes and a cover of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army,” and Jack White sits in on Eddie Cochran’s “20 Flight Rock.” Order your copy here.
If that doesn’t satisfy your Conan cravings, a 7-inch titled And They Call Me Mad? will be released on Aug. 24. The A-side is Conan’s spoken word interpretation of the story of Frankenstein, and the B-side boasts an interview with Jack White. Pre-order it here.
See the article below if you would still like to enter the contest. Your entry must be received by Tuesday, August 31st! Thank you!

HELP THE LITTLE ROOM AND ENTER THE CONTEST TO WIN FRAMED PROMO POSTER
As some of you know, the Little Room messageboard survives partly thanks to member donations. If it was not for the help of Little Roomers, it's possible the Little Room would cease to exist! The donations help keep the board on a semi-dedicated server, which it needs to be on due to the size of the message board and the amount of users who access it daily. They also goes toward support for the message board which includes, upgrades, patches, tech support, etc.
The Little Room message board donation drive for September is a little different. Any amount donated, high or low, is greatly appreciated, but if you donate $15 or more, your information gets automatically entered to win a framed Icky Thump promotional poster, plus some other White Stripes goodies I have laying around. You must have your donation in by August 31st to be considered as I will be drawing for the winner on September 1st. If you win, you will be notified by me via email.
Thanks to everyone who enters!! It's greatly appreciated!! Good luck!!

WE INTERRUPT THIS REGULARY SCHEDULED POST...
So, here's a small plug for my podcast. What? You didn't know I have a podcast? Kevin aka Twitch from the Little Room and myself have a music podcast called "Jumble Jumble". Catchy title huh? The show airs twice every Tuesday at 10AM/10PM on the ridiculously amazing Real Punk Radio. We would love for you to check it out, especially for the 10PM EST airing of the show as myself (whitestripesnet in the chat room), Kevin and a ton of other Little Room members hang out in the chat room during the show. So, with that said, how about putting aside any plans you may have tomorrow at 10PM EST and listen to our show while chatting with us! Here are some important links:
Here's an interesting conversation between Jack White and Spinner that hits on various topics:
"You've mentioned that 'Sea of Cowards' is a reference to the state of criticism on the Internet ...
The Internet thing kind of got blown out of proportion. That was just a comment I made as part of a bigger discussion on the word "coward." The title came about because the lyrics on the album had a lot to do with cowardice. It was an idea that kept on popping up when I was listening to the mixdown. I was explaining to Alison [Mosshart, Dead Weather singer] that since a lot of the themes of the songs are about cowardice, maybe we should have the word "coward" in the title of the album.
Later, we were having a conversation with some journalist about the way the Internet breeds cowardice nowadays -- how everyone has a fake name, no one shows their face, everyone is extremely judgmental, extremely harsh to each other, commenting and blogging all this stuff. The world is their oyster now, they can type whatever they want, and they don't present themselves as a human being, they present themselves as an avatar and as a screen name, and that's cowardly.
We wouldn't waste our time writing about the Internet"
DEAD WEATHER ARTICLE FROM SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE
Well, since the news on the White Stripes is super slow... actually, non existent, here's a recent article in the San Francisco Chronicle on Jack's other band, the Dead Weather:
"It can't be easy sharing the stage with Jack White - even if he's sitting behind the drum kit. But Alison Mosshart is better cut out for the job than most.
As the wiry singer for the Dead Weather, the White Stripes front man's side project of the moment, she swaggers effortlessly with her blunt-cut bangs and demon howls. When she trades verses with White over the fuzzy garage-rock racket, stomping her boots and strangling the microphone with her black-painted nails, their voices are virtually indistinguishable. The other band members have taken to calling her Baby Ruthless."
