|
|
According to Pitchfork Media, the White Stripes will be making an appearance on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart on December 1st.
"
We always knew Jack White was flamboyant and brilliant, but funny? I guess that moustache is pretty hilarious, but he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who can take a joke, y'know? Well, he'd better get ready to shake that funny bone, because on Thursday, December 1, the White Stripes will perform live on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart."

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the Stripes will be the 1st band to ever perform on the Daily Show!

09.29.2005 // NEW MESSAGE FROM JACK / NEW SINGLE INFO |
|
|
Jack has left a new message over at the Official Site regarding a very cool new item that you can purchase at their live shows. Check it out.
Also, according to MTV.com, The Denial Twist will be the next single off the album:
"
The White Stripes are reuniting with director Michel Gondry, and to celebrate, they've assembled a crew of characters that's, well, pretty darn Gondry-esque.
A cast of little people, giants, roadies, stagehands and one solitary Conan O'Brien
will join the Stripes in their Gondry-helmed video for the song "The Denial Twist." It's the first collaboration between the band and the French auteur since 2003's "The Hardest Button to Button" (see "The Story Behind The White Stripes' 'Hardest Button': Lens Recap" ), and their fourth time working together overall."

09.26.2005 // CONEY ISLAND, NY SHOW REVIEW |
|
|
Taken from the NY Times:
"
The White Stripes, in general, are proof that a craftsman's trust in his materials sets him into a greater loop of trust. When the system's really working, the craftsman trusts his craft; those who behold the craft trust the craft and the craftsman. It keeps going around and around, and even if the craft's unstated rules seem inexplicably to change, the beholders keep trusting."
