POSTPONED TOUR DATES

According to a V2 spokesperson:

The rock duo White Stripes on Tuesday postponed most of their upcoming North American tour dates due to a broken finger suffered by singer-guitarist Jack White last week in a car accident. White sustained a compound fracture to his left index finger in a July 9 collision between his car and another automobile in his hometown of Detroit, according to their label, V2 Records. The injury forced the musician and partner Meg White, the duo's drummer, to cancel a pair of European festival shows over the weekend. The White Stripes now have indefinitely postponed their first 18 dates on a summer tour that was set to begin on Saturday in Providence, Rhode Island, in support of their critically acclaimed fourth studio album, "Elephant." V2 spokeswoman Sid McCain said those shows would be rescheduled as soon as possible. The status of the seven remaining dates, which run through Sept. 25, depends on how quickly White's hand heals, she said. "The White Stripes deeply value the relationship they have with their fans and regret any inconvenience caused by these current events and are thankful for their patience and understanding," the duo said in a statement.

JACK ON THE DISABLED LIST

Well I am sure Jack had a birthday to remember. A fender bender in his hometown of Detroit has caused a broken finger, and healthy fingers are essential for guitar players. Two upcoming dates have already been canceled. If any more dates get canceled I will get them up ASAP. Click here for a small article on this subject in the Detroit Free Press.
